  1. ទេតើ [tee taə]
    final particle marking an emphatic clause that is in contrast to whatever clause precedes it
    Eg. ខ្ញុំមិនបានបកប្រែឃ្លានោះទេគឺ​លោក​ទេតើ​!: I didn't translate that sentence; you were the one who did!
  2. ទេតើ [tee taə]
    instead / rather (indicates that the statement is incorrect or other than one would expect)
    Eg. អ្នកដែលធ្វើម្ហូបនោះមិនមែនខ្ញុំទេ គឺម្តាយខ្ញុំទេតើជាអ្នកធ្វើ: The one who prepared that food was not me, rather it was my mother who did it.
  3. NOUN + ទេ(តើ)ដែល + VERB
    emphasis marker, may indicate that a previous statement or belief is incorrect or other than one would think, it's NOUN that ... (var. NOUN + ទេតើ + VERB)
    Eg. ឯងបន្ទោសខ្ញុំមិនបានទេ វាទេតើ​ដែល​ធ្វើខុស: You can't blame me, he's the one who did it.
