    to boil in water (to cook, soften, or extract some essence), cook by boiling (esp. with meat); to make into soup.

    1. បរិភោគពោតស្ងោរបន្សាល់បាយ [bɑɑreʔpʰook poot sŋao bɑnsal baay] : to substitute boiled corn so that some rice may be left over
    2. មាន់ស្ងោរ [moan sŋao] : chicken soup cooked with rice, lemon grass, citrus leaves, mushrooms, and garnished with mint, spring onions, coriander, salt, fish sauce and lime
    3. ស៊ុតស្ងោរ [sut sŋao] : hard-boiled egg
    4. ស្ងោរពីររំពុះ [sŋao pii~pɨl rumpuh] : to boil for a long time
    5. ស្ងោរសំពត់ [sŋao sɑmpʊət] : to boil cloth for a long time in order to get the dirt out
